Acuvate@15: of Growth, Technology, & Culture: My Acuvate Journey Admin December 21, 2021

When I think about my eight-plus years with Acuvate, it reminds me of the quote by Booker T. Washington – Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome. Growth and success are the outcomes of the challenges we face. And at Acuvate, we are allowed to take up challenges that set us up to succeed in our careers. I have achieved many milestones, whether professional growth, emerging technologies, or exposure to cross-cultural and domain experiences. In my journey, Acuvate has become my friend and mentor. And that’s what makes it one of the best places to work.

Setting Up For Growth

I joined Acuvate in 2013 as a SharePoint Developer and was deployed on a project with one of the leading Indian airlines right from the beginning. Within three years, I was heading the SharePoint solution team. In the same year, I got the opportunity to change my focus to emerging AI technologies and thus began my Acuvate Chatbot development journey. Over the years, Acuvate turned into a Chabot expert in the industry and me into the Product Leader for this bot core solution. Later, I also got the opportunity to shift my focus from technical to functional responsibilities completely. I even got the chance to relocate to the UK, looking into key customers and managing presales activities.

From developing the chatbot technology to advising new customers on how it could assist them – Acuvate provided the liberty to juggle between two different practices. Looking at the traditional way of rising the ladder, I’m happy that I got the chance to define my career growth differently. The support and flexibility to venture out and master technical areas and become a functional expert have shaped me into the professional I am today.

Exposure To Emerging Technologies

The rising use of AI and ML in creating futuristic solutions paves the way for emerging technologies supporting organizations to disrupt existing business patterns and formulate new standards. Acuvate is at the forefront of transformation with building virtual digital assistants using BotCore. And excitingly, I got the opportunity to be part of this. Acuvate supported me in maximizing my experience while working with emerging technology trends that have taken over the market. Furthermore, with the increasing demand for various techs, it was a great learning opportunity for me to research and solutions ahead of our competitors.

Leadership Culture That Empowers

All this was possible because of our leaders and their strong belief in maintaining accessibility throughout the organic structure of the organization. Since day one, I have witnessed the visibility and approachability each employee has amongst each other and with the leadership. This cultural openness has only made the business processes better and decision-making faster. An innovative outcome of this culture has been the outpour of ideas inside the organization. Acuvate encourages employees to think out of the box, share ideas, and simultaneously helps execute them.

Working To Max Out Our Tech In The Future

We have come a long way from being an organization with an India-centric business, having about 80 employees, with tech capabilities limited to SharePoint. However, the future ahead has a lot in the store as we grow into a multinational company with a global presence across the US, Dubai, and the Netherlands, expand technologically into AI, MS Azure, and Google services, and support about 500+ employees. Personally, the journey onwards seems even more exciting as we step into newer tech markets with our Chatbot capabilities.

Satheesh Kothakapu is Technical Architect at Acuvate and brings in 10+ year of strong expertise across Microsoft stack. He has consulted with clients globally to provide solutions on technologies such as Cognitive Services, Azure, DevOps, Virtual Agents. Currently he manages key customer engagement, involves in architecting the solutions and leading the team of Azure services.
